CCSS CLUB NEWS
Presidents Message:
Our November meeting was a success, as we got some great advice about how to treat our ski and snowboarding equipment. Many of us picked up our pre-buy discount ski/ride tickets! Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us! Special thanks to Barbara Amodio and her friends that handedout the tickets, it went very smoothly! Thanks aslo to Chris Fisher and Lisa Briganti, who developed the system, and have perfected it, making it an easy transition. Barbara came up with a few new additions for distribution at the meeting which enhanced it even further, aloowing us to enjoy our presentation from Eric at Alpine Haus. I would also like to thank Sam Rubin for getting all of the membership cards done, with Council Stickers on them. Great job!
Barbara has agreed to be the liason for people looking to buy or sell extra tickets.
We had 20 Snow Snakes who cheered Ernie Marquez, as our Ambassador at the Snow Ball. Although Ernie did not win the office of "Council Ambassador", he represented us nicely, and looked "marvelous"! The council did not have as many people as last year, but a great time was had by all. A little over 400 or our closest Council Friends were there, to share the many great prizes. I would also like to let everyone know that Marie Carparelli was my choice for "Outstanding Club Member", and was honored at the Snow Ball! Marie almost single-handedly produced the program for the Snow Ball, and that helped the Snow Snakes fulfill our 3-year obligation to the Council. She has also been one of those people that have kept the Snow Snakes and the CT Ski Council in the forefront of her life for many years. Thanks again, Marie!
I hope you are planning to join us at Alpine Haus in Wethersfield on Dec. 8 from 7-9 PM for our Snow Snakes Discount Night! This will be our "meeting" for the month, and we will have Barbara there with the discount tickets that have not yet been picked up. The Alpine Haus did a great job for us last year, and we were able to get many great discounts. We also had a nice time quietly talking with our fellow "Snakes", so I believe this year will be at least as great - Come on down and join us!
The only thing left is the snow. I thought we were going to get a jump on it and start the season early when we had that snow earlier, but it seems to have warmed up too much for that. Some of the ski areas up North are open, and ready for fun. The West is getting great snow, so why not re-think your plans and come to Montana with us - we still have a few seats open! No matter what your plans, please connect with some of your fellow "Snakes" and ski/ride together, safely!
THINK SNOW!!!
Lois A. Krause, President CCSS.
Note from Marie Carparelli
I would like to thank Lois Krause for doing the flyers and posters and consulting on the program. Also I want to thank Pam Cropley and Adam Fitzgerald because without their help we would never have met the program deadline.
