CCSS CLUB NEWS
Presidents Message:
Our March meetings (executive and general) were very enlightening. We found that we have many more people willing to step up to the plate to do what is needed to move our club forward. Our Vice President, Rick Paliuca, has offered to review the preparation needed, to enable us to successfully distribute the newsletter, easily, via e-mail (for those who wish to receive it that way).
Rick has also, along with Jim Winslow (a member who is a retired attorney), volunteered to be a committee of two, to review our club's bylaws to make sure our rules are keeping up with technology and progress in general. A couple of years ago, we did review our bylaws and make suggestions for change. As these changes need to be registered with the State (to maintain our tax exempt status), and payment is necessary for changes, we decided to make sure the changes are up to date with the times and technology before we file them and pay our fee. If anyone wants to work on this with them, please contact Rick (his phone number is on the officer list of this newsletter).
Our Summer Picnic has been booked for August 28, (the Sun. before Labor Day Weekend) at Churchill Park, in Newington. We still need a coordinator for taking reservations, to assure we have enough food for all, but the club has voted to buy all of the food. We will not supply wine or beer, but you can bring that for your own consumption - only bottles or cans allowed. Please call me if you are willing to take the reservations. Also, we have decided to take reservations up to August 21. Until further notice, please call me if you are planning on attending [(860) 289-8150].
Ed Wienko is coordinating a camping/white water rafting trip sometime in late June or early July. Please look for further details in newsletters to come.
As the snow is melting (thanks to the torrential rain) many have tickets to turn in. Please bring them to the April meeting and you can catch the great program the Pete Krause is going to give on how to prepare your skis/snowboards for summer. He is going to give an actual demonstration, not just talk about how to do it, so come on out and learn how to keep your equipment in tip top shape.
Chris Fisher is going to be turning the reigns over to Adrian Pavel for the pre-buy Ticket Coordinator. Adrian is going to take over at the end of this year, and is coordinating the return of any unused tickets you need exchange for next year.
Well, that is it for now, hope to see you all at our next meeting!
THINK SNOW!!!
Lois A. Krause, President CCSS.
